My Dr recently prescribed an Incruse Ellipta inhaler for me - I use it once a day. Since I am using it in the morning, I use my Symbicort in the evening. I am wondering whether anyone else is using both.

New inhaler
Hi Bettz, I’m a numbie I was prescribed incruse about 6months ago when I had a chest infection.a month after I thought I had a water infection, I never suffer with them and my stomach was very tender. Went to docs he gave me antibiotics. A month after same problem went back and in January he sent me for a bladder scan, it came back ok. I have still suffered with tender stomach and symptoms of water infection but I soldiered on. Saturday I had had enough so i checked back to November wondering what I had that was different and it was the Incruse. I check the meds paper and guess what, it said
Can cause stomach pains
Water work problems
I cough more than usual
It said stop taking it , I did. Three days on no stomach pains water works back to normal. I suppose every one is different, I now have to go back to the docs and tell them. Hope this helps.
Hi
Is your Symbicort dosage not twice a day.?
Yes it is 2 puffs am and 2 puffs pm but since I am doing the new one in the morning I haven't been doing the Symbicort in the morning.
Hi
Just leave a gap, one hour.
Symbicort is a twelve hour medication; Incruse Ellipta is a twenty four hour medication.
They both serve a different purpose and there is no contradictions.
I used to have spiriva but my new insurance wouldn't cover it. Then the Dr prescribed incruse ellipta and it did not work for me.
I take symbcort twice daily
