Stem cell is what we want but keep on getting told nooo way down the line years away grrrrr i bet !!!!
I was changed Seretide to Forstair over 18 months ago and have been fine.
I think from what I've read, that Seretide user get more infections on it.
Either way, if it doesn't agree with you, you can ask to change back, so don't worry xx
But if they stopping it how will they change me back i suspect its money rather than we want to give u something better hope im wrong stopped trusting doctors now
I believe they may have realized that inhaled steroids are not providing the benefits they originally thought and do have longer term effects so they are moving people off of steroids whenever possible, at least that is my understanding.
Seretide 250 was never actually approved although it did the job (the 500 version was). Accordingly, you are now being prescribed Fostair which is recommended . I had the same transfer a few months ago and never noticed the difference.
I also have been , successfully, on Seritide for many years. This was changed 18 months ago to Sirdupla (a cheaper medication) with dire results; I thought I was going to die and reported this to the health authorities. I am now back on Seritide. Do watch carefully as you attempt to change to your new prescription. Kind thoughts, Albert.
Been on Fostair some time now and I have not had anything go wrong . For me that is good
I changed from Seretide to Fostair about a month ago. Can't say if any difference except I haven't lost my voice so much.
I too was changed from Seratide to Fostair. Doctor told me that research had shown more chest infections were noted from Seratide users. I have noticed no changes since changing to Fostair.
I'm trying to rack my brain as to when I was swapped from Seretide to Fostair. I suspect it might have been about 2 years ago. I haven't had a chest infection in about 2 years!!
My respiratory nurse wants me to come of seretide I have been on it 5 years she was concerned about the dosage I have the 500 and take two puffs a day she saw I wasn’t to happy about this so decided to leave things as they are until April and then go down to 1 puff a day I also take spirvia I am a believer in “if it’s not broken why try and fix it “ Marian x
Thankyou for comments seeing as seretide nearly twice the price i was wondering if it was cost over treatment jurys out to be honest im fed up with different meds being changed my doctor got annoyed i wouldnt change my seretide over the new one
I,ve taken Seretide for over 12 years. now been put on Sirdupla. Makes my mouth very dry. plus my voice very laboured. Suspect its more cost effective.
Hi I was changed from seretide to fostair last week been on 3 days so far just headaches every day but could be unrelated .the seretide has more steroid in it also
I just dont think when we have to take these inhalers becouse of our breathing that we shouldnt be bullied into changing my life is rubbish as it is im existing not living grrrrr wish i was a child again knowing what i know now then id make changes to my life 😢
Like seams said, people were getting infections in Seretide.
There are lots of new inhalers out now so, they should find one that suits you better xx
