Good Morning,  My husband is taking the symbicort inhaler and spiriva and he has very thin skin too especially on his legs so I am guessing that the steroid component of the inhalers does affect the skin.  Take care, xxx

Last year i was taking seretide and my skin became very thin, would tear easily plus bruises appearing out of nowhere. So i changed to spiriva which as far as i know is non steroid.

Don't take anything now.

There are a lot of side effects you can get from taking steroids. But we do have to take them.

Yes my legs get dry and thin skinned, I have got in the habit of putting moisturiser   Lotion on them after I've done my face.  Seems to do the trick, oat the moment. Marie

Having had the same problem my GP prescribed "Doublebase gel (Dermal Laboratories Ltd.) 500 gram. Apply twice a day but I find once is usually enough. Its made a world of difference. Ask your Doctor. I find that my shins are particularly vulnerable to knocks and its worse as I am also on Rivaroxaban which thins the blood following a mini stroke last year.

Hi Irenec, yes apparently the steroid inhalers such as Symbicort does make the skin thinner and cause a bruise at the slightest bump. This is another reason why I am seeing my GP in a few days to change my medication to that of "Stiolto Respimat".
