Hi, can any of you kind people advise me which insurance companies are willing to take my husband and myself i'm in good health (thank god). My husband has COPD and was diagnosed with emphysema a few years ago . I have just got a quote for £2499 so if anybody can help, I would be so happy bye the way it's insurance for abroad.

Try fish, there’s a link on here somewhere otherwise tell them you saw it on here and you get special rates. We went to turkey in July and only paid £68 for my family of 3. I’ve got lung disease and on 24/7 oxygen. Good luck x

We bought our annual insurance through EHIC Plus, which is an add on to the EHIC card we need to carry throughout Europe, very reasonable price, the only down side is that you need to be a certain age.

I use this company. It was a little over £200 for a year for two adults. One with lung disease. travelinsurance4medical.co.uk

Main thing to do is shop around, if your willing to pay an excess you can get lower premiums I am with allrisk who are average price. Think BLF have some who specialise in those with lung conditions. Good luck

I must Confess it's not me that has COPD it's my Husband as he leaves everything to me I hope you don't mind me joining your group as I have to find things out ,I note that members say they are in 2nd stage or 3 rd or 4 stage I don't know what that means Roger (my husband) was diagnosed 10 years ago and he was mostly , ok he has had 3 spells in hospital with a space of 3 years in between , he got breathless but nothing that stopped him walking about the 3 spells in hospital where chest infections he has started to get worse over the last 12 months he has just come out of hospital and he is on oxygen 15hrs a day and he has NIV box mask at night min 4 hours a night so is he in a stage does it get worse ? as you go up a stage ? if someone has the time to explain it to me I would be grateful.
