I went through Compare the Market...I have multiple health issues. My insurance was £88 for a week in Spain
That's odd, there are very recent posts and replies on health insurance. I recall Saga, Staysure being two but other companies too.
There is a comparison site - medicaltravelcompared.co.uk- which I have used in the past, but they're not so good now because of mine and hubbies ages. The one I use now is All Clear, but I buy it through AgeUK
I think it was Travel Insurance Saver
Hi - ALL CLEAR -- I have pre heart x 3 - COPD/Astha, Joint problems and CKD - They gave me travel insurance no problem. Phone: 0800 848 8608
oh can you help as I applied for travel insurance for my partner with Allclear and he has COPD . If you don’t mind me asking do you use oxygen! Maybe that was why they wouldn’t !!!!???
Any help form anybody would be great fully received
No - I don't use Oxygen. I am not allowed with a drug a I take called Amioderone. I have 3 heart complaints, CKD and got insurance for my wife also who has Angina, even when I was going to IOM. I have cancer and still got insurance cover, my Dr Blocked me from going though, I found All Clear fair and used then in Europe and once in Asia. Good luck I hope you get what you need.
I've used staysure and goto insurance and I have many medical problems
Try All Clear for holiday insurance or Staysure.
Hi! I used Martin Lewis's site, Money Saving Expert; there is a section on pre-existing medical conditions where you can get a few quotations. I bought an annual policy at a very decent price from payingtoomuch.com. Good luck!
I've used Admiral for many years and found them to be the cheapest, I've had a heart attack, have severe COPD as well as other ailments. I usually take out multi trip insurance for a year as I go abroad frequently, for this I paid £160 at the beginning of this year.
Wow that’s a good price from Admiral for a year though I’m 80 but I’m very active person. I’m just wondering if that would make a difference
Age does make a difference, and some insurance companies won’t insure people over 70 or 75. Also it depends what country you’re traveling to and how many different medications you take. I travel with my mum and it costs several hundred pounds per trip. I use AllClear or Staysure, whichever is cheaper at the time, but someone here suggested using AllClear through Age Concern and I’ll try getting a quote through them next time.
We have used Staysure for quite a few years but Liverpool Victoria were a bit cheaper this year. I have RA Asthma Bronchiectasis Epilepsy Hypothyroidism & more. This year cost £184
Hi Bliss2, I have travel insurance with Staysure and the premiums are high but this of course depends on health conditions. The one thing I will say is I needed to claim for a holiday cancellation in May because I was suddenly not fit to fly and they were very good. The only hold up was the doctor's claim form which took 4 weeks to be completed but once I received the form and sent it to Staysure the money hit my bank within 3 days. Hope this helps, Maximonkey
I’ve been with Staysure and yes they are expensive but I’ve booked a year with Admiral now and price wasn’t to bad
I use Insure With as I have COPD + Grade 4 cancer and am still having treatment, many companies will not quote, also if you are over 80. Be prepared to pay!
