I am trying to find travel insurance for my father who is 85yrs old and hopes to travel to usa but had had 2 hospital admissions to hospital over the last year.

Can anyone recommend any insurance company I have tried all the usual ones but no one will offer us insurance

Have you tried Staysure? They insure me with my bronchiectasis and my 85 year old Mum to Florida but she had no illnesses.

I got my dads insurance for a holiday to spain through Post Office. Declared his COPD, Angina and Prostrate Cancer, it was very reasonable at the time which would be 6yrs ago x

You will find that the Post Office, whilst excellent, has an age limit.

'Medical travel compared' are the best I ever found. Give them a try :)

I have even been declined by Saga and Staysure BUT AllClear took me on. Give them a try.

We use Staysure they are for folk with illnesses. But none of my business but don't you think that is rather a long way for somebody who is obviously in poor health to travel. What would happen if he got stuck in 1 of their hospitals ?

I've tried them too but won't cover his COPD 😩

Don't really understand that because they covered mine and I am on a trial for a new drug. It was expensive but better than going without. No-0ne else would touch me due to the trial drug.

It's his age and that he's had 2 admissions this year

I found that many insurance companies would not cover my husband's COPD when he reached the age of 75. He does have an annual insurance policy but if does not cover existing conditions. When I was trying to find a company to cover him to fly to the states 5 years ago the premium was more than the cost of the holiday, so we never bothered going!
