Have you tried a Neti pot? They are fantastic for clearing your sinuses. Due to my sjorgens I'm unable to blow my nose!!! I find my Neti pot invaluable.
Hello Bamachick . I also had surgery. I know it's really yucky after. To be honest it took me almost a year to feel better. It wasn't an overnight change and although now I am far, far better off, I still get the occasional trickle. My otolaryngologist also mentioned that not everyone who gets this surgery will benefit from it. And for some people they will see a difference but the problem may return.
My advice to you is to diligently continue your post op treatment and keep your otolaryngologist updated. Drink lots of water as it helps thin the mucous and makes drainage easier. Hang in there. It may be just a matter of time.
It's like everytime I drink something cold I get that mucus tripped in the back of my throat, but I drink vinegar at night and it kind of helps. Thank you for replying back
It's a common side effect of drugs, what are you on?
It won't cure it (didn't for me) but gargling a teasp of salt in a cup of hot water last thing before bed helped, and again in morning. Finish the whole cup at first, cut down if you get better.
Keep up the saline nasal rinse; avoid the steroid nasal sprays, was part of the cause in my case, not the cure.
Also try montelukast - for allergic rhinitis but helps with PND? I guess you'll have tried anti histamine cetirizine?
I know, it drives you fing mad :)... thankfully mine went eventually when I got off high dose steroids.
I've used the salt and hot water and I don't remember that working at all, but I will definitely go back and try again. I have not used montelukast at all,but I will look this over before using bc I'm on meds, some things I have to ask about. Thank you for every drop of info 😊🤗....oh yea! I was (laughing) smiling bc as soon as I was reading this I had just finish using my steroid spray 😄
Yep, what works well for some doesn't for others, but you need to give it a couple of weeks at least.
The strong steroid in Seretide & Symbicort inhalers I reckon was part of my PND problem. Switched to Spiriva but couldn't get on with that either for different reasons, then to Formoterol with low dose Clenil plus montelukast...
PS I agree with drink plenty of clear water - you don't notice it so much if it's thin, and you could try carbocisteine, which also doesn't work for everyone..
