Rescue pack will contain one steroid such as prednisolone. And one antibiotic mine is Amoxicillin. Which covers a host of bacterial infections but not all, several members take a sputum sample to be analysed to get the correct medication.
If you infection is a viral infection then antibiotics will not help. you just have to ride it, drinking plenty of fluids.
There is no quick fix if the more common antibiotics don't work.
Unfortunately there is no crystal ball to predict what antibiotics to give you, the two mentioned cover a lot of the more common infections.
But as others will tell you there's always a new one just around the corner.
You won't know until you hand a sputum sample in to see if you have an infection. You may not have one. In June I had an exacerbation with out an infection just the wheeze and breathlessness and cough Also if you take antibiotics when you don't have an infection you could become resistant to them.
