Post covid oxygen levels.

Hi, I have recently had covid which left me with a dreadful COPD exacerbation. I was given anti virals and taken rescue pack followed by another course of Doxycycline. Although I feel a lot better my oxygen levels have dropped dreadfully. I am prescribed ambulatory oxygen but am finding I am using it for every mive I make. Have got a couple of days left to finish the antibiotics but just wondered if anyone had experienced this post covid. Take care everyone.Thank you

Thankfully I haven't, I always say to people if you don't feel clear at two days before finishing antibiotics then contact your gp rather than wait until afterwards . Dont allow time to lapse between ab courses, that will give time for the bugs to multiply - and fast whilst you resistance is low. Good luck in getting over it Maggie.

Hi Maggity.

I’m still recovering from covid. I tested positive on the 7th May and did not test negetative until the 20th. I had amoxicillin and prednisone during the first week, on the 20th I had a course of Doxy and then on the 5th June another course of prednisone. Neither my GP or consultant are particularly worried - both taking the line that there is still a lot that is not known about covid and that some people take longer to recover. Having said that, they have booked me for a review on the 24th of this month.

So, we are definitely not alone. My advice would be to keep your GP informed to make sure you get the maximum treatment, try to rest and take light meals and lots of fluids.

Thank you for your response. Can I ask if your oxygen levels were affected as this is my main worry. I do hope you fully recover soon and thanks again.

Hi Maggity 😊 I too am getting over Covid. I went to the doctor for a blood test and 2 days later had 4 days in bed with high temperature, no appetite, muscle aches, a banging headache and streaming nose. First sign of the runny nose I started on Doxy as that kinda thing always goes to my chest. My sats were fine at that stage. Then started coughing up bubbles (sorry!) so I started straight onto another packet of Doxy and Pred. I am 3 days into the Pred. but today my breathing and sats are worse. Usually at rest I sit on 95/6 but today I am on 89/90. I am on ambulatory oxygen usually, but recently hardly at all: I walked into the surgery on THAT Monday with no oxygen at all. Today I am using the oxygen, like you with every move!

I hope we feel better soon, take care xx

yes

I have never been the same from either Covid or the vaccine as I had both 4 weeks apart then 6 weeks late the breathing issues started

Have a google on spike proteins and micro clots post Covid

I use a cheap supplement that breaks clots and has improved my breathing no end a fellow sufferer has found they work for him

It’s called Nattonkinase
