a quick call to your o2 provider should give you the advice you need, they usually have someone on call 24/7.i think the guidelines are try to keep the appliance at least 1.5 mtrs away from immediate o2 intake and of course the appliance needs to be insulated to normal electrical standards.hope that helps but do try to get advise from provider.good luck

Hi.Thank you. When I read your guidelines Stoneuk it doesn't mention fans so I suppose that means ok?

I hope so because I have my fan switched on. It is about 5 feet from me but we are in a different room to the concentrator. The only danger would be from sparks so always keep electrical equipment in good order. :)

i think the danger area is close to your canula i.e the o2 outlet.mrs mummy appears to have it spot on approx 1.5 metres from a heating source and possible sparks as per stones guidelines with air liquide

Hi. I don't know but I did think they use them in hospital so it's probably ok?

I would say yes, mine is next to my concentrator. But judging from the replies it probably isn't the safest arrangement! So go with the advice of our knowledgable members. Xx
