Fans and humble pie.

Okay. I admit I was wrong. Apology to my husband.

The heat wave was wearing me down. My breathing was getting near to impossible, depression was setting in.

"Buy a fan" says he.

I gave all the old arguments I'd been hearing for years. 'Make the room hotter' 'Use a lot of electricity' 'Blow dust about' 'NOISE! We won't be able to hear or sleep'.

I got so desperate I gave in and we bought a fan.

It's modern, quiet and does not get hot, even after being on for hours.

I slept properly for the first night since the heatwave started.

I actually feel much better.

Humble pie eaten.

To save moving the fan from room to room we will buy a second one for the bedroom.

A very hot "hi there"! I read your article and was wondering what type of fan did you get, where from etc etc. There are so many to choose from ranging from the ridiculously cheap to the equally laughable expensive. Always best to have a recommendation.

Many thanks!

It's an igenix from Tesco direct. Chosen because it was in stock, a reasonable price and was bought on click and collect. My local Tesco is just round the corner from my house. At the time I was so hot and feeling so ill I really didn't put much thought into it. I just struck lucky.

It cost 16.49. 3 speeds and turns side to side (optional).

Have bought three and also have ceiling fans in all the bedrooms and the lounge, great assets,.
