Thrush in my mouth

I had the corona virus for eight weeks 3 lots of thrush in my mouth either from my nebs or fostair my mouth is agony have any of you suffered from this and what worked for you?

Natural yogurt in large spoonfuls is a great help but you can get your doctor to prescribe you Mycostatin, which is a liquid you squirt on your mouth, four times a day. It comes with a little dropper on the lid and is very easy to use.

I had a dreadful case of thrush that made my tongue black. Nothing the doctor prescribed worked. Only a combination of Live Yoghurt (I used Cow Collective, which comes in a jar) and pineapple chunks. I took them separately and the black thrush went in a couple of days.

I tried all the usual prescribed meds and they didn't help. Then my GP suggested I try swilling/gargarling with salt water. Find that REALLY helps.

Ventolin gives me oral thrush, as you probably know you really have to gargle and rinse your throat after inhalers.

I use a spacer now for my Ventolin, and it does help.

My GP let's me keep Meds for it now for when l have an outbreak, l find they really help to clear it up, and l am meticulous with sterilising my toothbrush after each use, l have baby bottle sterilising solution, made up fresh every day, to soak my brush in, rinsing it well before using it.

Yes, I use bioteme, a replacement oral jelly & live Yoghurt. The hospital prescibed me a cream but sorry I can't recall the name. I hope you have got back to hospital & they are sorting it out. X

Just waiting on the doc looking up my letter from the hospital I was in a & e on Saturday my doc told me to go but they gave me my third bottle of nystan hmm

Nystan worked for me, doctor has to prescribe it.

I was told to make sure I gargled with salt water really well after taking inhalers and medicine and never to forget to do so. This has helped me greatly..I also do it after nebulising twice daily.

I have had a virus for the last 2 weeks and have suffered a lot of pain in my mouth and throat. My tongue has been severely inflamed and I have some really nasty ulcers and thrush. I have had 2 bottles of nystan liquid with no improvement. I have been rinsing with difflam for last couple of days which really burns initially, but then is okay. Also been using Gengigel for ulcers.

My respiratory consultant has now prescribed fluconazole 150g at last I've had some relief! The pain is terrible especially my tongue! Hope you get sorted. !!
