I've been to see my doctor about breathlessness and wheezing after the slightest exercise. I can't even walk the dog around the block without wheezing really badly. My chest feels constantly sore. I've had an chest x-ray and it was clear. Doctor has given me Ventolin to use when I need it which seems to be more regularly. When I get wheezy I cough up fluid and my chest gets sore when I breathe in or cough. Doc says I may have an irritated lung?? Anyone heard of this or know how long it might last? I've had it since Christmas. I'm going on holiday soon so hoping two weeks of hot weather will do me some good. I'm also a little worried it might make it worse. Anyone got any advice please? Thank you.

Hello I'm new ....
Hi, I'm no expert but some warm weather sounds good to me. I would see how you feel just before you go and if you have any concerns pop back and have another word with your doctor see if he'll explain what he means by irritated lung. I'd ask them to explain why they were giving you an inhaler? The good news is that your xray is clear but it doesn't explain why you are still having symptoms. Now I've written that I think I would definitely go back to the GP and ask more questions. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will be on soon and be more useful than me. Enjoy your holiday x
Hi Michaela, I know that with my COPD warm & dry air works better than the UK's cold & damp air so I'm guessing that it will help you. Not sure about flying (with air conditioning etc) - I'd go back to the GP for some more advice

Good Morning Michaela. Welcome to our community. I would defiantly go back to your doctor, also check if he is ok with the holiday, you may need to check your holiday insurance. Hope all goes well. Nan
Hi Michaela,
If you are flying and cannot walk far you can order wheelchair assistance at the airports. Some of them such as Malaga require quite a long walk to reach the plane.
Good luck, have fun. J
