Ivy leaf hi. you should have someone coming to help you. have you been in touch with social services, you shouldn't, have to struggle. get in touch them.. take care
hello Philbal thank you for reply, i know i can get help but at moment prefer to carry on as long as can. have family who will help with anything if needed, also have arthritis so may need help soon.
Also AGE UK ivyleaf who can guide you with regard to benefits, etc
It would be Attendance Allowance ivyleaf. Stilltruckin has very kindly put the details up for you. I feel it would be helpful for you to contact a benefits expert to help you. Whilst being honest there are ways of wording you answers to the points system forms, which a ben expert do every day. It will also take the pressure from you. If you have a Welfare Rights attached to you council they will come to you home in a disability case. You could also contact CAB, DIAL or Age UK.
It is based on the care you need not the care you get if that makes sense.
Good luck.
love cx
thank you stilltruckin, cofdrop and lovelight for your replies, will now look into it.
Dear Mary why don,t you contact Social Services they can come and do an assessment of your needs and help you get what help you need. Age UK will look at benefits for you and help with form filling and the likes.there may be other services in your area that could help. I do hope you get some support feel free to contact me if you want too best wishes Irene
Why don't you ring up the BLF helpline Ivyleaf? They should be able to advise you. Find their number under the red balloon. They will be open again next Tuesday.
I believe it's still the case for PIP that you don't need to be actually receiving care help in order to fulfil the criteria. You just need it as struggling ...so seems that's the case with you. See CAB? X
I have COPD. I used to get DLA and I will receive it together with my pension. Make enquiries perhaps with Age concern or the CAB. Age Concern usually have someone to help you with this sort of thing. Yes. you should get a DLA component.
I'm glad I have that, because I have more than £25000 in the bank, they dock every pound that is over this limit!
Hope you get help.
Hi Mary, Hey, you should be getting help from district nurses or from a specialist nurse. Ask your doctor he should have made sure that you were having some sort of back up.M ary do u live on your own? can you get out at all? if so call at citazens advice in your locality, if u do not have local branch there , get in touch with doctor again, let ppl know that your out there needing attention your entitled to it, an I am sure other benefits are there for you to claim. good luck mary .hope you can get this sorted out, I like yourself am on oxy 27/7 cant get out at all now, but when weather improves I am going to give it a try,we have local DIAL A RIDE here in B recon and they are brilliant,
I hope are able to get help, get onto local councillors tghey are there to serve you..in other words be a pain in the derrier and someone will help you I am sure
good luck
John
