Hi everyone,
I've got my asthma review next week and I'm considering discussing the possibility of being placed on an AIR (Anti-Inflammatory Reliever) plan. I read about it on the Asthma & Lung UK website, and it caught my attention.
I've been on Qvar 50 for the past year and previously was on Fostair 100/6 for 2 years since I was diagnosed with asthma. My main triggers are pollen and food allergens, which since eliminating them from my diet & consistent antihistamine use in summer I've found I rarely need to use my reliever, especially outside of hayfever season. This is even after admittedly not being consistent at all with taking my daily steroid dose.
Considering my situation, I'm thinking having a combo inhaler to use as needed like in the AIR plan could work for me. However, I've not heard of much about others being on this kind of plan.
Has anyone here had experience with the AIR plan or similar approaches? Do you think it would be worthwhile to bring this up with my asthma nurse?
Thanks in advance for your insights!
