Freedom insurance - 01223 454 290. I use them everytime, they also cover people with genetic conditions as well and other long term conditions and they arent too expensive. I have got Ukraine for 2 weeks at £69 which is really good when i hvae a genetic condition and 5 long term conditions including portable nebuilser and wheelchair.

Try AXA they cover me and have had several admissions.
plumie - i tried that company they quoted me £989 for a trip to new zealand for a few weeks. I also enquired about a holiday to greece for a week they quoted me £350 it can be cheap as the lady explained but given my history of icu admissions and the frequency of hospitalisations they cannot cover me any cheaper. Was a tad frustrated gonna try axa later!
A currently very narky kat who just wants/needs a break! Xx
Hi all,

I resorted to Unique ( Heath Lambert) that is suggested by AUK as my usual one decided not to insure me anymore! I am paying £120 for a week in Estonia...... would like to go to Italy next year as well but it would also be £120 ... the ticket is £100.
The question that is clobbering people in the medical screening is ' have you been in hospital in the last 12 months. whereas before, it was last 3 or 6 months.
Give them a try! ( though I did pay an extra £10 for my leg problems etc)

In case it helps other board users, I've just used Primary Insurance, who I used for years pre-asthma, and found them surprisingly reasonable in comparison to other quotes I got.
For a 10 day US trip, I only had to pay a £10 premium over their usual rate - this is for a 36 year-old on 3 asthma meds and with no history of hospital admissions/nebuliser use.
My total premium was about half what other places quoted me - and this is for their superior cover with £10 million medical coverage. Given that my mother's faint in Washington DC cost $20 000 three years ago (paid directly to the hospital without quibble by Primary) I am reassured to have this ridiculoulously high medical coverage just in case...!
