Hi All, I've been diagnosed with late onset allergic asthma which is all under control. I'm going to California in October on holiday and will need travel insurance to cover me in case of an episode whilst I'm away, can anyone recommend a good travel insurance policy which includes asthma cover? Many thanks in advance. Jo

Thank you swiftjo, bought from them and reasonable compared some some of the quotes which were over £400!! 🙀

I used AllClear for a trip to Japan from the UK last year and it seemed good value, but I got a quote recently for a short European trip and it seemed expensive. However, I'm now 70 so that may be a factor but my health conditions have remained the same.

This is a subject which has been discussed here and on other sites quite a lot, so if you put your search criteria in the 'search HealthUlocked' box you will find all the previous posts and replies. x

Use a broker. It can be cheaper, if you struggle to find travel insurance.

I have only travelled in Europe since having asthma but I just told our insurance company that I had asthma and that it was controlled and had no hospital admissions for it and they were fine. Made a note and that was that.

It is important to tell them, but quite a few companies seem to okay with it as long as it is well controlled.
