thanx for the reply
I have had a wee lookie and most seem to be saying, not had a hospital admission in the last 6 months, he was admitted last month, not sure how to get round that.
As I feel had he been receiving treatment, his asthma wld probably have been more under control and may not have ended up in hospital.
try axa i have travel insurance through them and as long as you not awaiting surgery or have been diagnosed with terminal illness they cover you without prob under normal insurance
AXA don't offer cover for mental illness (even if occurs after the holiday was booked)- sore point with us! Best to declare the asthma to stop the insurers wheedling their way out of it!
If you need an insurance please make sure you tell the insurer about their asthma.Your GP could even help find a local hospital near to where you are staying or recomend an insurance if you felt it would give you peace of mind.We always have this problem. My asthma and OA ,ALSO 3 with epilepcy.Love Glynis xxx
Hi
I recently took out travel insurance for us as a family, my daughter (age 2) has Asthma, I went on moneysupermarket.com I was able to pick a couple of companies that specifically insure people with illness. We used Insure and Go in the end (0870 901 3674).
I can only say this - two weeks in France on a normal family holiday, I wasn't even sure it was worth it, in the end I thought well better to be safe than sorry, how glad am I - we had to use the insurance, My daughter ended up with Pnuemonia in a country wher I hardly spoke the language, they provided interperator service and fantastic support. Worth every penny.
Hi i either use Unique travel insurance or freedom travel insurance, the cover asthma and many other long term conditions. They are great. Do a google search on either of them. I fully recommend freedom travel as they always been good with me.
