Of course it is, chronic pain can trigger depression on its own and you have a chemical propensity to it. Depression is a bleak place to be stuck, please seek treatment, your mental state will be making the pain much worse. Talking therapies and or carefully chosen medication is called for. Wishing you a way out of this dark hole. 🌹

I developed arthritis in my knees in 2004. After various physio etc it calmed down. The best advice I was given by a physio in St Thomas’ Hospital - buy an indoor bike. Start small and work up to 30 mins a day. This helps the muscles around the knee to get strong and support the knee. Pain is almost nil and am a lot more mobile a fewer flare ups. Worth a try.

Good luck
