I've been taking Pregablin (600mg daily). After a total knee replacement a friend said she was on Duloxitene and felt marvelous. I thought I would try them and I feel so dizzy.

I asked doctor if I could go back on Pregablin and she said she wasn't allowed to prescribe pregablin now.

Yesterday, I went to Asda and then my back started I was in agony. If I didn't have my husband I don't know what I would do as I can't lift shopping.

Anyone else had a problem getting Pregablin???

There has been a problem with Pregablin on dependancy and new rules were introduced on prescribing it. It can still be prescribed.

Thank you piglette. I am ringing surgery now - I've been waiting 26 minutes. I want to go back on Pregablin I need to be able to walk. I give up waiting, I am going to surgery.

I went to the surgery and the doctor rang me at 4.30. She is asking the pharmacy if there is anything else I can take instead of Pregablin. At least they are looking into it.

Gabapentin is sometimes used instead, but that’s for treatment for fibromyalgia. I trialled both about ten years ago…but was unable to deal with the truly bad side effects.

Hi PixixI tried Gabapentin before I changed to Pregablin. I have been fine with Pregablin.

I'm waiting for pharmacy to ring with an alternative. Watch this space!!!

I hadn’t heard of a Pregabalin shortage. I think some M lucky people can take either that or Gabapentin…I just wish I could take either of them!!
