Marina coil. Removed and best my arthritis has been for years

My friend had a marina coil and within months was being diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I did a bit of Internet searching and as a result had mine removed about 3 or 4 years ago.

I then stopped my medication and although I wouldnt say I'm cured I haven't had a flare up in my knees since. I have just recently started running too! At points in the past the only way I could walk was by pulling my right leg along by my holding on to my trousers!

I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis a few months after having the marina coil, I never considered it as a factor, but silicone can create toxicity, look at stuff about breast implants.

I feel quite fired up about this so that's why I'm posting here just in case anyone is using this coil and there is a coincidence in dates etc.

The coil became very important as I was taking methotrexate so therefore I couldn't afford to get pregnant and it is a very efficient birth control method! But I have now read lots of stuff about silicone toxicity and how it has affected so many women. We are more susceptible to autoimmune conditions and having this coil can be the last straw for our bodies.

I hope it is okay for me to post this. Its not something new I am saying as there is loads of stuff out there about this.

I would like to thank you for your post. I too had a coil fitted in September 2019 and earlier this year started experiencing sharp shooting pains in my groin to the point where I couldn’t walk. I spent months in agony crawling up and down the stairs. My G.P eventually sent me for an X-ray which showed mild arthritis in my right hip but the pain I was suffering didn’t add up. After reading your post I hadn’t even considered the coil could be part of the reason but insisted on being referred back to a gynaecologist to have it removed. It also took weeks and many phone calls to my G.P before an urgent referral was placed. I am pleased to say I went to hospital on the 9th of October and had the coil removed but was horrified to know it wasn’t even in the correct place and had started to embed itself into my womb. Thankfully I feel I’m on the road to recovery but still suffering pain although not to the extent I had been. I have to build my fitness levels up again and this will take some time. Thank you so much for taking the time to post about your friend and your own experience as I believe if I had not read this I would still be suffering the most awful pain. xx

I'm so glad you took action and that my post was the catalyst. Doctors practically push these coils on people without doing their research.

I already had psoriasis Which is an autoimmune condition, I read somewhere that the coils shouldn't be fitted in women with autoimmune conditions!!

I hope you recover from all this.
