Is it safe to take tramodol and naproxen together I need some advice before I take them
Painkillers : Is it safe to take tramodol... - Arthritis Action

This is one for your pharmacist - they are trained in such things. Tramadol is quite a strong thing so don't mix it with anything without checking with him or her.
I agree.... I wouldn’t take tramadol anyway...
Apart from arthritis, I had breast cancer six years ago. After the surgery and so on, the treatment is a tablet to dampen down the possibility of cancer recurrence and one of it side effects is joint and muscle pain. My own GP is a pain specialist so he was happy to take me through different pain killers at different doses. So I'm on morphine patches supplemented with ibuprofen.
There have been some scare stories around this kind of pain killer, (including tramadol which did nothing for me) but you don't necessarily nave to believe them. I am not hooked on them (I know because I take days off) and they make my life so much better. Not pain free at all, but enough so that I can get on with life.
Even if you take an opiate every day for pain and then stop suddenly you would go through withdrawals. That does not mean you're addicted, it simply means your body has become dependent on the opiate. On the other hand, an addict has a mental addiction to the high they get from using the drug. And because they are forever "chasing" the high their body becomes dependent on the stuff as well. It's this mental addiction that makes it so hard for them to stop. In the US we must sign contracts when using an opiate. And generally speaking the contract will read that we cannot stop the drug or take a break for a few days like you do, nor take more than prescribed. I am surprised you're able to stop using your patch without any kind of withdrawal. I have also never heard of morphine coming in patches and I wonder if it's just not available in the US. I'm glad to hear your patches helping you but don't ever feel guilty for using it.
My doctor warned that I might have withdrawl symptoms, but I don’t. The dose has gradually increased over the three years I’ve been taking them, but the effect is not to give a high at all. Just dampens down the pain. The dose is less than a quarter of the maximum amount that can be prescribed in the community (that is, not in hospital) and has a similar effect to taking a dose of ibuprofen.
If I was you ask your doctor
As previously said this is something to ask your pharmacist. However I will tell you that Tramadol is an opioid derivative and naproxen is an anti-inflammatory. Therefore their mechanism is entirely different.
I was told ages ago by my Dr that Tramadol works well together with Paracetamol. But I would ask your Dr or at your Local Chemist. Always best to get there advice.
I'm on morphine patches but when things were very bad I took tramadol and naxopram as well as the patches and was able to stop without any further problems when the pain easied off without any problems the same with the patches when I don't need them I don't take them
