Plantar fasciitis pain at night

All, sorry if this is slightly off topic. I have osteo arthritis in my hands but as yet my feet have escaped this. However yesterday my left foot arch was painful. I’ve had plantar fasciitis before so I assumed this was another case. However, at 3.30 this morning I was woken with intense pain in my foot arch that radiated down to my toes and up the back of my leg to my knee. It was throbbing and stabbing. I honestly didn’t know what to do with myself. I finally managed to go back to sleep at about 5am and this morning it’s still painful but not so intense. Has anyone else got experience of plantar fasciitis causing such extreme pain that it wakes you up at night or is this possible that it’s something else? Thanks in advance!
