Steroid injection for psa

Has anyone had a steroid injection in their buttock? Supposed to ease all joints. (Had cortisone ones before but they were injected into the actual joint) if you’ve had one has it been effective? Also were there any side effects?

I had one two weeks ago, third one this year. It seems to have really helped this time. Less pain and stiffness in my hands and lower back.

I had a couple while waiting for methotrexate to take effect. They improved all my joint problems substantially within a day and the effects lasted for about a month. Much better than any anti inflammatories or pain killers.

Regarding side effects, I had none but long term repeated use can cause significant problems so you are not likely to be offered more than two or three per year.

I have had several Cortisone injections in a shoulder whilst awaiting shoulder replacement , I found these to be beneficial and eased the pain quite a lot with no after effects

Hi. I had kenalog injection at the first appointment when I was diagnosed and then another 6 weeks later . First one worked like magic , no side effects apart from sore buttock for a few days .

Second one didn’t work as well but I will be forever grateful for the relief from the pain after the first one !
