Hi I had a hip steroid injection 2 weeks ago,was pain free for about five days, the pain in my hip, groin and back are now back, also in my thigh which I didn't have before. Anyone had this experience after a hip joint injection. I have been told some consultants like you to have three injections before they do a replacement.

Hi Gladys15, I had two steroid injections before my hip op, and like you found I was only pain free for, I think about a week, certainly no more. I had my hip replacement 6 months ago, and I haven't looked back, best thing I've had done ! Good luck for the future !

Hi,

I had one about two months ago, most painful procedure I've ever experienced and it lasted exactly 2 days!!!! I told the consultant there was no way I'd have another!!

Saw my consultant last week and I am having my hip replacement on 14th September.........can't wait, I'm in so much pain.

My friend found the same that she seemed to only have relief for just a few days. She has just had one of those special guided ones under anesthetic and exactly the same relief for a week and then back to where she started. It must be so disappointing as you seem worse off now than you were originally.x
