I have been on treatment for RA for about 5 years now but the pain started in my mid thirties and only got the diagnosis when I changed my GP. It is a nightmare but I have an excellent rheumatology team. I attend my appointments by myself, however I read information on RA and try and ask as many questions as possible.
Have you been on the HU, NRAS website? Lots of information and support on there too.
