A bad start ....

Echoing Tony's post a bit here! upset and anxious. How do you get a partner to talk to you that won't talk? A rhetorical question really, no one can answer when they don't know the person, but so frustrated. Just need some kind thoughts today guys. Now I will probably get the silent treatment all day.... Just needed to vent, thanks.

Not sure on this one , I do no women never stop talking & we are very good at saying how we feel & what we want etc , where men dont , they seem to think in silence , it can be frustrating , but from experience the more we nag them to talk the least chance we have

Maybe a male member might come along & tell us more how they work

You are right , its hard to answer when you are not sure what are the circumstances , but what ever it is try not to get anxious & upset , I leave mine to it & ignore him , & to be honest if he gives me the silent treatment I quite like it as then I get to watch TV etc in peace , try & think of the bonus

I no this has been no use , but just wanted to say dont let it make you feel wound up , because then only you will suffer hun , when he is ready maybe he will , but dont try & push it , well I find if you do they go futhur inwards

Thank you Whywhy. seems whenever a 'difficult' subject comes up his reply is 'I don't want to talk about it'. I just find it frustrating, and very immature really. Don't know how you can sort problems out if you don't communicate? But thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. X

I do think alot of men are like this , they just dont seem to no how to talk , it is frustrating as it doesnt get things solved how we would like , plus we no it would be easier if they would talk , but think that is how alot are ..not all ..but alot

Have you ever read that book , Men are from Mars ...Women are from Venus , I think its called , its quite good & true when you read it , try & get or borrow a copy , you can read that when he is giving you the silent treatment , might help to see where his mind is coming from

Men have a habit of burying their heads in the sand and waiting for the things to go away. Totally agree how can you sort a situtation out if someone isnt wanting to deal with it full on. Dont think a mans mind can ever be worked out. It can drive you mad. Nagging.............well they turn off even more. x

Hi Kaz,

My ex-husband used to give me the silent treatment, if he didn't want me to got out, he would sulk and then wouldn't speak to me for days. I nagged alright, until I got him so mad, he would have to speak. It was hard enough, going to work and looking after him and 3 children, and yes I knew he was ill, but if you don't communicate how can you help them. Men are very deep, and yes that book Men are from Mars and Women from Venus is an excellent book, I wish I would have read that when we first got married, maybe then I wouldn't have got a divorce.lol. I did understand his illness and I have suffered with anxiety for a long time, but sometimes it is so difficult.

I must be the exception to the rule I want too talk about feelings. but I now know why she didnt want too talk to me how do you tell someone after 17 years that its over with out hurting them. yes i got drunk caused a scean now she wont talk too me at all. Now all the worst thoughts are flying thru my head. all i can tell my self is take the pain my kids need me. just hope i kepp listerning.
