is citalopram any good for agoraphobia

at the mo im on citalopram but have touch of agoraphobia will this med help brisie

Hi brisie

agoraphobia , is a common thing when suffering with anxiety & the meds you are on are for anxiety ? so once they start working everything should start to feel better

The BIG mistake i made when I started getting agoraphobia was not making myself go out & stopping in , until what started as a touch of it , now is major

Looking back I wish I had now made myself go out when I just had a touch of it as you say , so it did not develop into what is now a huge fear

So try & face the fear & even if its small try getting out even if its just the local shops , well i wished i had

Hopefully though when these meds start working this will lift

Keep posting on here & more people will come on & may have more advice with this

You are certainly not the first to feel this way on here so you are not alone

Dont worry it will make it worse

This is how it goes sometimes , but the more you fear it , then the worse it feels

Try to tell it to do its worse ,so as not to give it to much importance

If you can manage it , just a little trip to the local shop or something , I say this as I wish someone had been about to encourage me & would hate to see someone end up like i am now

hi why why just been shopping anxiety is back again seems when i spend money it gets worse this morning i took 40 citalopram i thoght this would stop it but it hasnt yeterday great today yikees i find breathing more benificial or valliumm doc says no they havant got a clue took vallium for over 30 years no probs life was good no axiety but now doc says no more vallium 20 years ago my doc made me sign a for to say that i take responabillity for for taking vallium now uot of the blue no more that is what vallium is for his excuse is there addictive so why am i taking citalopram every day surley thats addiction to bewitched botherd and bewilderd brisie
