11YRS WITH GAD :( DOES ANY THING HELP REALLY ????

Hi Billy

I ve been anxious for very long time as well.After cbt and medications I improved dramatically but my life is still a bit restricted,but I have a job and a salary now and this make me feel a bit more normal.From now on I will try to keep this level of improvements wich is very important.I might not be able to cure myself completely but as far as you make some improvements is a good thing.we can t see anxiety but we can feel it..we have to learn to manage this that s all..Best wishes

Thanks for your positive feed ive been up and down with it last 11yrs .ive tried meds which have never helped just made the anxiety worse.Ive just finished talking thearpy which has done nothing neither.I just dont know what to do .

Hi billy123. Go to Amazon and get the book "Essential Help For Your Nerves". It costs under £10 and may give you an insight into your problem. It was written by Dr. Claire Weekes who was nominated for the Nobel Prize in this field. No mean achievement. She knew what she was talking about. I have commented on, so called, "talking therapies" in other blogs and you will gather that, in my opinion, they are a dubious therapy to say the least. Usually run by someone who has not "been there". If they have no experience of nervous illness then don't bother with them. To be fair there are some who feel having not suffered but they are rare.You have to have felt the misery yourself to pontificate on it to others. hi. It started 11 yrs ago in my case too and its on and off. maybe you need difrent meds/therapy? what triggers your anxiety. it is stress for me. so now im learning how to challenge my thoughts and deal with stress. but My cat was put down on sunday and I feel awful! cant breath normally!

Im not sure really what triggers mine cause i feel like this every day at some point but i do think stress is a factor.I do find im at my worsed in social groups.I have read up about this CBT and thinkin of givin that a go cause i think the way i think really does not help.Im really sorry abut your bad news and understand what this is doing to you.we are not the best people to cope with bad times .I hope you will find some healing .
