Help for Anxiety.

Many years ago I had my first bout of GAD. Very nasty. Have had them since and been on medication on and off. Never as bad as some poor souls I read about on this site! I found a couple of books and many recordings by Dr. Claire Weekes to be helpful. Most of you may have heard of her. She is no longer with us but got an OBE for her work with Anxiety patients. The books are "Self Help for your nerves" and Peace from nervous suffering". I am sure they are still available possibly on Amazon together with tapes or CD's. She deals mainly with Agoraphobia but also all the other "nervous" problems. Listening to her voice is usually enough to calm one down! Best of luck to all. Jonathan.

Thanks for the recommendation Jonathan. I'll look into that. It's nice to feel soothed by a voice. I'm exploring mindfulness at the moment for my anxiety and depression and I think it's probably disturbed suppressed emotions that I now have to deal with. I hope you're ok and managing your GAD.

Take care
