Hi everyone.

I’m a year and a half in taking Mirtazipine.

Been on 15 MG then upped it to 30mg. Far too much so back to 15mg. Then 7.5 and now 3.75mg.

I won’t knock Mirtazipine. Guess it done its job but I have been feeling so drugged up through my working day, drowsy spells even at 7.5mg since August.

I have now been on 3.75mg for a week and I feel a hell of a lot better. No more drowsy spells. Like a weight has lifted from me. Also feel like I’m getting so much more better. Never suffered with mental health but only now I am feeling better.

I wonder if the reduction again has given me this better feeling. Can anyone share their experiences. Thanks.

Thanks for your post.

Mirtazapine or Avanza is usually prescribed to improve your sleep when it is a problem in a patient's mental health.

My psychiatrist recommended I take it at night to take advantage of its sedating effect for improving my sleep quality and to reduce the effect on my brain during the day at work.

We all have a different way of our bodies processing medication.

Check in with a health professional to make sure that your mental health has in fact improved rather than the result of not taking the prescribed medication in a higher dose.
