Social anxiety
Social anxiety is quite common have you tried councilling it's a start ! Self hypnosis is another avenue to look at !
I had it really bad for a long stretch.. honestly, the only way to fight this horrible way of thinking is to apply yourself and put yourself in what might be uncomfortable social situations..if you cocoon things will only get worse.. isolation perpetuates more isolation..that comfort zone in reality is a prison cell that strips you of self confidence and esteem....it does us no favors..we have to face people, the world, they'll be there all the time.. eventually at some point right? I mean otherwise one will face a lonely life of solitude that guaranteed will only worsen mental illness further..may I ask cause this is so often the case, but does your SA revolve around your appearance, your looks at all? Think about that one, be honest to yourself...trust me so much easier said than done I know it well, but we've all got this, it's achievable..good luck on your personal journey, believe in yourself...🤞
Good for you for recognizing what is going on with you. I suggest you make a commitment to yourself and find a therapist who specifically treats social anxiety. If you can't find one talk to a counselor at your university about one. There are also online programs available, like the one at the socialanxietyinstitute.org.
I think it’s helpful to set a goal for yourself. Can start off by saying tomorrow I will speak up when the teacher asks the class a question. Then same thing the next day. Then next week maybe do it twice. It’s about building a habit. The worst part I feel is when nobody speaks and the teacher has to call on you individually. So, get ahead of it. And know the material. Don’t take personally if you answer incorrectly. It’ll become automatic the more you do it. Also, if you can try to connect with someone in your class, you might feel more comfortable speaking up and about the class in general
