Anyone have luck w/ anti depressants for Anxiety? I tried some years ago when I had postpartum anxiety and they never helped. Wondering if I"m the only one. They actually made me worse for a while.

I have been on every medication out there for anxiety and nothing has worked for me.

When I first became clinically depressed 15 years ago yesterday (the day of the London bombings) I was put on Fluoxetine (Prozac). Several years later, when my problems were less about the past (my marriage break-up) and more about the future (financial and losing the lovely lady who is now my wife) I was put on Sertraline, for anxiety. I am still on it now, although the counsellor with whom I started yesterday hopes I will be able to reduce the dose if he can re-programme my brain after a difficult childhood.

Hi there.

I've tried a whole range of ADs - all of them made me feel worse.

My anxiety (and depression) is particularly sensitive to hormonal fluctuations - maybe yours is too Always262? Now post-meno - anxiety sky high, mood is flatter than ever

I struggle by using herbals - St John's Wort, Passiflora, A Vogel stress relief, Be Calm (Superdrug) etc etc. They do give some mild relief (for me better than ADs) possibly worth a try.

You're not alone in how you feel or the bad reaction to ADs. I would love to just be a "normal" - with normal brain chemistry and normal reaction to meds.

Tried multiple Siri’s. NONE WORKED. Actually INCREASED anxiety. Works for some, I suppose.. Except for benzos.....nothing else worked. 😤

Yes, benzos are the only thing that has worked for me as well. Tried buspar and that made me worse as well. Just made me focus on death and made life feel pointless.
