Flash of light when blinking in left eye

Sometimes I get a small dash of light in my eye when blinking. It flashes for less than a second after I blink and lasts a minute or so. I have been to the opticians recently for eye floaters seeing flashes of light and night also when blinking, and was told it was due to the vitreous gel in my eye. Is this all related?

If the optician said this why are you questioning it? They are the eye experts after all so believe them!

Yes us people with anxiety always tend to not believe them . It’s just our anxiety I’m sure they told you the best knowledge

I have the same thing, also in my left eye. I was seen by an ophthalmologist and told the same thing. It’s been months now but lessening in episodes. I’ve not worried about it... I believe the specialist:):)

Are you nearsighted? I’ve been having flashes for years and now they have increased. My ophthalmologist said the same thing. She said that they will subside. i’m 25 with a high eye prescription. it’s more common for older people to have flashes but myopics can have them too die to vitreous syneresis.
