Worried about cancer.

Hi everyone. So I’ve had a sore throat just on my left side and pain in my left ear now for around 5/6 weeks, I get a feeling as something’s stuck in my throat like right at the back and I’m always clearing my throat. Spoke to my dr on the 15th March where she said it’s probably viral and to gargle salt water for a week. Obviously it hasn’t worked so I called back this week and she said to try 7 days of amoxicillin before a referral to the ENT.

I’m pretrified that I have cancer and with all this covid going on they are going to refuse to treat me or delay my treatment. I don’t know how I am meant to be calm. I’ve done some research into cancer and covid and it doesn’t look promising. Basically unless you are in urgent need for treatment it will be delayed to save the nhs. I have 2 small kids and I’m just absolutely so scared it’s horrible.

I don’t know what I want from posting this really maybe just to rant.

You should definitely get it checked out if it continues, but some reassurance...I’ve had intermittent pain in my right ear and right side of my throat, sometimes lasts weeks. When I was in the thick of being extremely anxious, I was also worried it was cancer. It’s been well over a year since it started and it’s definitely not cancer. I think it’s probably just allergy symptoms or one of those things that will just never be explained.
