First time writing on here since I made an account, read some post with people speaking on their anxiety & the Covid-19 virus going on, Iā€™ve had the worse time dealing with it thinking that I have it because I get short of breath but no other symptoms, I work overnight at FedEx so even more of my nerves getting to me with all the people there and boxes I have to touch. Iā€™ve as of lately have been having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep & having trouble breathing which will cause me to think something is wrong & as much as I want to go to a hospital and being 100% sure Iā€™m scared of being exposed to the virus if I do

Do you have a fever? Do you have a continuous cough? If you haven't then it's very unlikely you have it. Even if you did the death rate is extremely low for healthy young people and probably no worse than a bad cold.

No fever from what I can tell every time Iā€™ve gotten check since last week itā€™s been normal 98.0 little cough like when you have hair in the back of your throat or better yet like allergy season although Iā€™ve never had a allergy test done I do have a dog that sheds a lot and Iā€™m always around dirt and dust at work so

Well as you haven't got the symptoms I would say you haven't got it. Anxiety can cause shortness of breath so it's much more likely to be that.

Shortness of breath is a concern in any situation. But itā€™s a major symptom of the virus and with your job itā€™s a reality.

You donā€™t need a fever or cough those are the 3 main symptoms but you donā€™t need all to qualify for the virus. I Would call your Dr and let him or her tell you what you should do.

Itā€™s not a continuous thing itā€™s really just when I think too much about the virus or stress more about something, and every time I go to see my doctor or the ER they say my lungs are clear & I also just had an X-ray done of my chest and lungs and if they were concerned they wouldnā€™t have sent me home with no explanation of why I was having chest pain and light short of breath and that was about 10 days ago

You said in your post your short of breath and you want to go to the ER. You never said you did go to the Dr about this already and were checked out including an X-ray. So Iā€™m confused why you failed to put that in your original post.

You are asking for advise and people are taking time out of there day to help you and you already knew your fine based on your replyā€™s to your post.

Depending on where you are, ..

What we are being told is ..

The only people being tested are

Health care workers, first responders.

High risk patients, showing moderate symptoms.

People showing moderate to severe symptoms at doctors recommend.

Primarily be told to self isolate if your experiencing symptoms.

Basically unless your very Ill, wont get tested, so better off staying home.

My wife went to er 2 weeks ago.

Was told even if she had it to go home and self isolate. Wasn't tested.

She's feeling fine now.

All I'm getting at is, if your sick, stay home, if you dont have to work stay home.

Tye media has everyone to hung up on testing, but the tests wont solve this.

Stay calm, stay positive, stay home.

I donā€™t feel sick as all, I hate the heat so I always have my AC on and have a slightly stuffed nose but nothing else no continuous cough, no fever, only short of breath for a period of time until I get my mind thinking of something else or get distracted by something

Hello :-)

I think so many of us are focusing on everything we feel at the moment where usually what we are feeling at the moment we would not give a second thought to under normal circumstances

You have been given some great replies and I can only add that I get what I call a nervous cough , like you explain just like a little tickle a hair in my throat and the more I think about it the more I cough

Try and suck a mint or something when you get the urge to cough I find that stops me doing it as it can become a habit

I also am finding when I am listening to much to what is happening I am getting periods during the day when I think I am tight chested but when I get distracted it goes

I am not sure if you can wear those thin plastic gloves at work that might help and also keep up with the hand washing :-)

Take Care x

Honestly has to be the best reply I have gotten because everything you just said is exactly how Iā€™ve been feeling & yes I wear 2 pairs of latex hospital gloves under my work gloves every day I go in and sanitize my hands any time there is a bottle near me

Don't worry about the boxes then your hands are well protected :-)

Try the mint trick and see if that helps , sounds like a nervous cough like I get and you are not alone with this worry , a day at a time you will be ok :-) x

I understand how you feel, Iā€™ve dropped about 50lbs from the Stess of it All. Iā€™m what they say is High Risk. Iā€™ve banned others besides family that lives with me. Have you called your hospital to see what theyā€™ll say? In the meantime wear gloves. Be Safe out there šŸ™

Honestly I havenā€™t been able to sleep because I get all anxious and feel like I canā€™t breathe but I know itā€™s just my head and itā€™s just anxiety. Anxiety can really mess with our body and make us react . Youā€™re okay donā€™t worry , take a deep breathe and focus on the positivesšŸ˜Š

Don't go to hospital before you try this

Take dip breath and if you feel better it is most likely not virus .. with virus you cant feel better with deep breath ... or call someone and talk to them ... if they understand you and you don't gasping for air it is anxity ... sorry my english is not good but i hope you will understand ... good luck
