Metoprolol Succ Er

Just took my first dose of metoprolol.25 mg . I am hoping it helps at least with heart palpitations. Let me know if anyone else is on this beta blocker at all !!!!

Kate, it helps with heart, blood pressure and yes, even anxiety.

Give it a chance to do it's job. Wish you well on it. xx

Been on Metoprolol 25 mg since September for palpitations. I feel them once every blue moon. But other than that, I'm much better now. Was having them everyday at first, multiple trips to the ER.

I was on it for many years, but it stopped working for my bp and palpitations. I am currently on Bystolic. Its not a cheap drug, but for now my insurance covers it. I got back to the cardiologist in a few months to see if the palps are less. My bp has been very good. Sometimes a good beta blocker can keep your anxiety down a bit, but dont count on it to do it all. You still need to learn to relax and find ways to manage it.

I had upper ventricular tachycardia and these beta blockers didn't work for me. I finally opted for the ablation procedure. Perfectly successful. I can drink all the coffee I want and no sign of palpitations. I suggest you dump all medication.
