Someone on this forum msg me and asked me a few questions about my meds, that was ok then they asked how old I was I told them, the next question was ‘ can I have your Whatsapp details’! The answer to that was no I don’t have Whatsapp. That was it no more questions. 🤷‍♀️

Thats creepy. Im also on the A Fib forum and awhile back I got messaged from a young man( supposedly) and asked for my phone #. When I said no, he tried to argue with me about it, so then it was a HELL NO. I reported it. Im a 66 yr old married grandma.. not sure what that was about.

I don’t even know if this was male or female who msg me, either way they weren’t going to contact me anywhere else but on here.

Dear Bobbyabby

Every now and then, we admin have to step in when this is reported to us. We want to make you feel safe on this site. We won't tolerate this type of harassment and can have that individual censured, restricted or removed from the site. HU are here to help people. This person is phishing which breaks the house rules! If you want to report this formally, we will investigate.

How do I report this.

I have been in touch with your Admin people and hopefully, you should be hearing from them. I have sent two personal messages to you concerning reporting. The More button is useful.

Well done for reporting. I was just going to offer to do this. x

Bobby to help stop this type of thing make sure you lock your posts to this community only. The option is just before you post. You can edit your post/replies at any time by clicking on the more button below it.

If you don't lock your posts then all of it and all the replies can appear anywhere on the net in full. Trolls scan the net for just this type of thing. If you do lock it then only the first 2 lines of your post and none of the replies will appear outside this site. Only members of the site can read these in full. Stay safe online. x

I don't think they ment any disrespect? Sometimes Medication affect people of different ages differently, like Medication for depression can give kids under 18 suicide thoughts.

No one should be contacting you via pm asking personal questions. If any stranger ever does this do not respond, just report.

Scammers will use sites like this for business or trolls to harrass women. Keep your details private and stay safe online.

If it happens on the main board just click on the more button at the bottom of the reply and report. This will go straight to the admins.

If it happens in pm then again click on the more button and report. This goes straight to HU only so make sure you also tell the admins too. To find them go into members at the top then admins. x

What what? x

Yeah, I've had a few people who will say they're leaving this site but I can find them on WhatsApp and they provide a number. Just don't. It's phishing at best. They seem normal...some have had posts. My interactions with them are usually just providing advice. I would ignore, report, or whatever. I've seen similar types of actions in different places as far as WhatsApp stuff. It's just a free texting app on phones, definitely a legit app...unfortunately where some operate some weird operations.

Hi this is a scammer trying to get personal details off you. Do NOT respond to any pm's like this at all and just report them. I hope you have done this. x

I love the anonymity of this forum..it helps me to open up at times.

I love we can make some friends here, but giving personal details is something that I am always extremely cautious about. Some things about us people just don’t need to know...and genuine people without agendas won’t want to know so early on in messages, is my opinion anyways

Take care xx

Sounds like they are trying to befriend you to steal your identity, credit cards, bank info etc.

People 'Phish' for folks to take advantage of.

A good rule to follow is to never give any information to someone who calls, texts or emails you and asks you to provide any confidential info.

Your bank, credit card people have that info already and would never call you and ask for it.

If someone asks for credit card or bank info, make sure to notify your financial institution.

They keep records of that and it helps prevent fraud.

(Im a security analyst for a bunch of different issuing banks. Lol)
