Death of a pet.

I posted my medical issues to another person, so I’m not going to repeat it all.

My problem now is my 16yr. old dog had to be put to sleep a week ago.

We had the very best vet come to our home:kind, gentle, quite & professional.

He took her and her ashes were returned by secured mail, so I never had to go anywhere. He even sent a sympathy card.

She was MY EVERYTHING.

I am a mess. I loved her more than I love myself.

I seriously doubt I’ll ever love anyone or anything like that again.

The pain is nearly unbearable.

I’ve gotten books about grieving the death of a pet & about how we’ll see them again on Rainbow Bridge/Heaven, but the hollowness in my heart & soul is so profound I can barely function.

Any advice besides “time”?

Thanks.

Oh gidget1

My heart is heavy for you.

If anything ever happened to my beloved best friend that I’ve had for 10 years I don’t know what I would do. I do know that the day will come. It took me 10 years to get her after the loss of a previous best friend dog. There’s nothing I can say that can ease the pain that I know you feel right now. It’s going to take time. I’m sorry for your loss try to remember the good times. Hugs 🤗

Thank you so much.

I hope it will be less than 10 years to be ready to get over her.

I’m pretty sure that love for another dog will be the only thing that

helps enough.

I’m sorry for your previous loss & cherish your baby every day.

My heart goes out to you it really does it's the most awful thing to lose a pet to me they are people and family

I have found the only thing that helped me was to get another I know it's too early at the moment It doesn't replace them of course it doesn't but having that little "person" to love and look after knowing they are totally dependent on you has always got me through

At the moment your heart is broken and you say you will never love anyone or anything like it again You will I promise just take it one day at a time now and week by week you will feel less sad you will get to the point where you will think she had the happiest long life and your happy memories will replace all your sadness

You will know when that time is right to look for that new bundle of fur to love

Just take lots of care of yourself happier times will come and she will always be in your heart

Sending huge hugs xx

Oh my heart just aches for you ... I lost my beloved dog a year ago in March, I still miss him everyday, he was the love of my life and I really don’t think a human death will effect my so much, they are such a part of you and always there ... sorry not really anything helpful but at least know I understand your pain

Thank you.

I’m sorry for your loss.

This is worse than the human deaths I’ve gone through.

I’m just numb.
