Anyone been on Amitriptyline for muscle tension? I am not coping with the drug, any advice please.

I've been put on 10mg of amitriptyline a night, I couldn't wake up, so drowsy it freaked me out, made me more in a state than the muscle tension and pain. So I cut the pills in half, still pretty drowsy. Although it has lessened the pain. I wanted to persevere, but because they make me feel so weird, I am panicking more.

Anyone got any experience to offer?
