Atenolol and adrenaline?? Anxiety??

I have recently been put back on low dose atenolol. The reason is I had another afib attack which I havnt had in 5 years! I also have horrible anxiety. The 3 days I have been back on atenolol have been a blessing. All of the racing heart from anxiety is gone. No more ups and downs just regularity. Like I said I took it before, but I forgot how nice it was. My question is does atenolol block all adrenaline or just the adrenaline that goes to the beta receptors on the heart? I’ve noticed my energy is down just a little bit but I’m OK with that. I was just wondering if my body was still getting adrenaline it needed for other parts of the body? I haven’t even had to take as much Xanax in the past three days either. So I guess the main question is does atenolol just block the adrenaline that text that heart?

Atenolol is what is known as a cardioselective beta receptor antagonist (blocker) which blocks only beta 1 receptors that are located in the heart.

Limit your use of Xanax, it can become a very dangerous drug if overused

Oh gosh. I have been on 3 .5mg Xanax a day for years. My psychologist in KY is president of the National Anxiety Foundation and he said I was fine. And chances are I’m gonna need it for a long time anyways. If I ever wanted to try and stop he says there’s a taper program. But he said I’m under 2mg which is when it gets dangerous.
