Breathlessness due to anxiety.

Can’t breath automatically.

Have to manually exhale and inhale

And paying attention to my breath cycle

Which is causing even more anxiety.

It’s so sickening.

Can anyone help me out of this situation. :(

Hi I'm really sorry to hear how very difficult it is for you having to concentrate on your breathing. My anxiety has had its ups and downs, and times where I was so overwhelmed I had the butterflies in my stomache turn into churning feeling everyday. Now I'm just very weak and tired just trying to manage everyday. First of all I suggest you tell your family doctor about this breathing problem or a clinic or hospital. Just to make sure it isn't any other type of breathing problem that you're having. Then ask if that is not a physical problem and its something from anxiety what can you do? My therapist gave me a breathing technique where I say I breath in comfort and breath out what I don't need. And focus on this and I hope it will help to reduce the struggle that you're having. I very much hope you'll be ok. Please let me know, because from one human being to another I am concerned for you. God Bless. <3 with love, Rose

Hi Rose.

Thanks a lot for the concern.

I was smoker.

I just quit after being a smoker for last 3 years.

I am afraid it’s not something due to it but mentally.

H4hmad, I think it could be due to a number of things and because you don't know for sure I hope you'll consider getting checked physically because then you'll know for sure and maybe get reffered to some better help. I hope the breathing is easing up in some way for you and you feel less and less of a struggle and more and more calm and ease.

H4hmad, since you are new to this forum today, we have no idea if you have been

diagnosed with an anxiety problem. We are not doctors and must make your safety

our first priority. As "rverde" stated it is important to have your doctor/hospital rule

out any physical condition causing this. If this is coming from stress and anxiety then

I recommend a Sympathetic Breathing Meditation on YouTube.

It will help lower your stress level and bring your breathing back into sync.

Type in "Sinking & Slowing Breathing Meditation" by Quiet Mind Café.

This is only after you have checked with your doctor regarding your physical

health situation. Wishing you well. And Welcome to the Support Forum

for Anxiety & Depression. :)

Hi Rverde.

I got my health check up done.

As the doctor say I might be suffering from deviated septum. Which Is causing me to be prone to chronic sinusitis due to which I am feeling shortness of breath and anxious.

He advised me to get CT scan done of my face.

Thanks for your concern

Will keep in touch.

Hammad.

Hi H4hmad, thank you for sharing what's happening with you as I was concerned for you genuinely. Its at least given you a health plan to follow through and I hope solve your breathing symptoms and anxiety. Good Luck with the CT scan and I hope that everything goes well for you.

I do know what anxiety is like I suffer from it and depression on and off for 6 years and am now seeing several doctors to help me because it is a daily struggle just to be awake and get through my day. So I hope and pray for the both of us that these medical aids will give us the relief that we need to live a normal life.

Take care and as always keep in touch. <3

Hi H4hmad,

I've got you on my mind. Is it a deviated septum? I know scans can take a little bit for the results so hang in there. I'm hoping for you that they have found the problem and can help you as soon as possible. ok let me know and take care

H4hmad,

Is it a deviated septum or something else? How do they treat this?

Are you doing ok?

I found the more I concentrated on the breathing in and out the worst it was, I have tried to distract myself by thinking outside of my body. It is so difficult because once you concentrate on the breathing it’s difficult to stop. Anxiety is a subconscious thing, people do not understand unless they experience it themselves.
