Sertraline

Hi. I suffer from ulcerative colitis and IBS constipation. Because of that, my gp prescribed sertraline 50mg. The past 3 weeks have been awful because of side effects and anxiety attacks. I have been following this group and a lot of the posts put my mind at rest. Getting slightly better. So thanks everyone.

Are you still on the Sertraline? Has it helped anxiety at all?

Yes I am. Now, I don’t believe I should be. My symptoms of trembling hands, palpitations etc... were due to an hyperactive thyroid. I have been misdiagnosed for a long time by my gp. He said I was borderline. I went to another gp in the practice who sent me to an endocrinologist. I am now on a medication for that and feeling fine. But stuck with sertraline as I believe the side effects of coming off are as bad as starting it.

I am very thirsty all the time. Quite a few people are too. But things are good. Thanks for asking.
