Hello everyone
I'm new to this page, and it's bad that I see we are all going through the same thing.
Hi Erod626, Welcome to the Anxiety Group. Yes it's true that a lot of people are going through the same thing you are right now. However, when looking through the posts try to see the positive ones as well. There may not be as many as we'd like to see but that's because new people are joining everyday. Pick and choose what you think may help you and don't read into the bad experiences that some may have with medications or therapy. We are all different, what doesn't work for another, may be the answer to your anxiety.
Looking forward to seeing you on the forum and sharing your story.
Thank you Agora1! It feels good to be connected with people who know exactly what I'm going through and how bad anxiety has been affecting my life and everything else going through this.
I actually spoke to a doctor once about my anxiety he said he could prescribe me the medication but didn't think I needed it and that I can over come this myself. I took a week off from work like he recommend me to and it helped now that I'm back working it's the same thing again.. but anyways I wish you can overcome your anxiety one day as well and for anybody else reading this
Thank you Erod626, actually, I have overcome my anxiety as well as agoraphobia. It's quite an experience to feel so alive and back in control again. I'm not the only one on this forum who has been able to leave anxiety behind. Once you can accept, truly accept anxiety as nothing harmful, you can start going forward. A book highly recommended is by Dr. Claire Weekes entitled "Hope & Help for your Nerves". Amazon carries it in book form and CD. I recently found some of her videos on YouTube that you can watch for free. You'll get an idea of how she promotes ACCEPTANCE as the key to ridding yourself of anxious symptoms. Good Luck. We're here for you
It sounds very interesting I'll definitely have to look into it. And I'll also do my best by accepting the fact that anxiety isn't harmful which it really feels like it is :(. Thank you for making me feel better at this moment!
Hello and welcome aboard. Anxiety and depression are not a death sentence.....but what a ride they can put us through! You're going to be ok, but it takes patience, persistence, and support.....so you've come to the right place. Can't tell you when or how you'll be better, but you will.
Anxiety is a pain, but it's actually really good that we have this connection and outlet to others in the same situation.
When I grew up, I was VERY alone with my anxiety and I had no outlet. It was far worse going through it alone and believing that it was only me, that I was damaged and all by myself.
I can imagine how many people spent their whole lives believing that they were the only one and suffered through this alone.
This is the positive side of technology, the good things we can do to encourage one another through the difficult times in life.
I also felt alone at one point in my life. Always thinking to myself like why am I the only one going through this and why not him or her. I'm actually making some change in my life right now I'm thinking that's one of the reasons why I get these attacks.. Well I wish nothing but the best for us all. That one day we will be cured from this anxiety, stress, or depression that we may be going through. And Even though we all don't know one another personally I'm glad to be connected with you all. I'm 100% in this with all of you and to help one another get rid of this. I enjoy chatting with you all.
It's not a nice thing but we can help you through it I will chat when I have time to help x
