Terrible health anxiety made worse by not having health insurance! On and off chest, left shoulder and arm pain for about 3 days now!! Anybody else with this? Would a heart attack last this long?!

Hello heart attaches come on at once and it's hard core pain . I have pain in my left side also some times in my arm and my left breast . In my case is my muscles I over use them . And because the pain for you has lasted a few days I would think your muscles are the cause just stretch and maybe rub around those areas and see what happens . Take some ibuprofen . . Its your anxiety making you fear the worst . Your OK.

Thanks so much for the reply! I've been telling myself it's muscles being that a few places are sore to press on but there's always that little "what if it's..." voice in my head!

Your welcome , when we have anxiety our minds pay more attention to aches and pains then others without anxiety in fact we do it so much so that our brain starts to think the worst and then our body's send alerts to our brain and then our brain will send alerts to the things we think is wrong and our body's try protecting it . If you think it's a heart attack ,what happens we tense up and our chest hurts our arms hurt and we think heart attack from worrying . But the heart speeds up because the body is trying to protect it from our thoughts . We can not die from anxiety . And your heart will slow down not speed up if your dieing . . Our body's go threw a lot as we age and we never know what to expect the older we get because we never have been that age before . Just keep thinking positive thoughts when things like that happen . Breath threw them . Focus on other things . Don't dwell on your aches and pains and before u know it they will be gone . But don't think the worst right off the bat I know it's hard but that part is fear you have of something deeper . Once you figure out why you have anxiety and what your triggers are you will be able to control it alot better . Take care.

I often have pain between my two breasts. It usually happens while I sleep. I dont exercise,so I wonder what it is. Its very painful and I hold my chest and get up very slowly. In my above post,I said, »sisters«.

Sorry you feel so bad. Is there any free emergency room you can go to?

Last night,I had pain right in the middle of my chest. Right inbetween each

*sister*. One of my sisters also really hurt today.

I am afraid to go to the doctor. I think its nothing. I also said to myself,* can a heart attack last this lomg*?

That is probably cartilage pain . I have it around my left breast all the time and sometimes in the center or breast bone . If your having a heart attack you will know it . . Hope this helps ..

Omg that's the worst pain ever cartilage pain and it's constant sometimes . You have to remember that your chest has lots of muscles in it and we constantly turn twist sleep wrong all kinds of stuff and we tare muscke tissue and cartilage. We also get inflammation in those areas . Your heart is well protected cause your ribs , muscles and cartilage is all taking the punches . Before anxiety we never paid attention to t pain we would shrug it off and poof it was gone . But anxiety can make any pain worse intensifies it . So hang in there I think your just dealing with every day growing pains 😉

Do any of the places you're having pain hurt to press on? My shoulder, arm and chest all have tender spots so I'm thinking muscles!

@ nickie..

It just feels all crunched up. My touch doesnt hurt it more.

I must have had 2 dozen small heart attacks,if this was really serious? Maybe Im having mini strokes.:(

Or is this anxiety driven?

Thx,

Sky

Do some stretches use a door way put both arms up against the door way and let your body go forward a little and stretch those chest muscles do that every day . It sounds like your muscles are tight. You will be surprised how good the doorway stretches feel . You want your top part of your body to go threw the door way while your arms are pressed up against the wall part ..you also could be having muscle spasms .

I have arthriris and osteopenia in my neck. I wonder if arthritis can happen in your breasts.

I will take your advice and do the door stretch.

Thank you so much. Are u a doctor?

And of course I googled! Does anyone know if referred pain from your heart would cause your shoulder or neck to hurt when pressed on?
