Hi all. I'm definitely noticing some improvements in my overall anxiety level. however, I get really discouraged when I have a 'blip' or set back. For example, yesterday and today at about the same time I got a very intense feeling of sudden anxiety following by a small adrenaline rush.. It all happens very fast. It Leaves me feeling discouraged that the drug might not work for me. Would it be normal to still be having bursts of sudden anxiety on day 13? 7 days on 25mg and now 6 on 50mG. It just seems to strange that a drug intended to lower your anxiety could heighten it at first. Any similar experiences?
Thank you,
Amy

Hi AnxiousAmy, It is quite normal to have a so called "blip" or set back. It's temporary until the medication levels off to the therapeutic dose for you. An SSRI takes every bit of 4-6 weeks to get to that level. Your doctor has you on a graduated dosage which is good in that it will slowly build up in your system. Try not to worry about it meaning that the drug is not going to work for you. Give it that chance. Good Luck dear. xx
