These past couple month I have been dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety. I have since started lexapro and my anxiety and been low or gone completely. I usually weigh around 150-151 I'm a 5"11 female. This morning the scale said 145. I know it's not a lot but it's still a drop for me. Has anyone ever experienced weight loss because of anxiety? I know for a while I was having a hard time eating. I had no appetite.

Weight loss because of anxiety?
Hi justbreath123. I just wanted to know how the Lexapro made you feel and how many mg's are you taking. I was prescribed Lexapro as well and I am scared of the side effects, dizzy, because I suffer from vertigo, depression, anxiety, etc...
I am on lexapro but only 5mg and I don't think it really had any side affects when i started. And I'm usually terrified of them. 5mg isn't supposed to be even doing enough so I'm trying to get off of it and it is dreadful even such a small dose. I'm trying to get off of it for 8 months now and can't fight past the 2 day of withdrawal symptoms.
I'm also on the 5mg. I feel good most days, I've been on it for 5 weeks now. Sometimes I do get that brain fog feeling and insomnia like crazy. I started taking Benadryl at night to help me sleep, but my mind also runs like a hamster wheel. I can't seem to turn it off. I also get anxious from time to time. Lexapro has been fairly good to me other than those minor issues. I'm not a big fan of taking these type of meds but I couldn't do it on my own anymore. 30lbs is a lot, I'm over here worried about 5lbs and less.
I've lost 30 pounds in a couple months time because I was so anxious I couldn't eat. It can go either way with stress and anxiety, losing weight or gaining. It's obviously not a great thing but definitly normal.
