I feel like I can't beat anxiety .. Help.

I'm 17 .. I'm supposed to be in school but I can't even get up from my bed without feeling shaking and dizzy .. I'm terrified of the outside world now. I was a varsity athlete and I was constantly active .. I haven't played sports in about 4 months .. I just lay here .. I don't get up for school or anything. My family is worried about me but I haven't returned home. Seems like life has just paused for me .. I'm always scared I'm gonna die from something soon.. I hate anxiety I want it to go away .. I need prayers .. I need help .. Its getting bad.. I went from a straight A student athlete to a truant .. I have not went to school in this past month.. Someone .. Anyone help me ..

Hello, I'm so sorry to hear this! It sounds so upsetting as I know what you mean, one day your life is completely normal and the next you can't even bring yourself to getting out of the house. Could you possible ask your parents to take you out of school and have you home schooled or could you change schools? Perhaps you need to be home schooled instead for now and then you can return perhaps next year. Have you also discussed this with your school or a therapist? I think therapy is the best solution and being home schooled for now! It could be your hormones changing that has affected you as you are a growing teenager. Or perhaps you could be low on iron, vitamin D or vitamin B! These three vitamins can make you feel weak, empty, shaky etc if you are deficient, so please do a test with your doctor as soon as possible to find out if you are low in any of these iron, vitamin B or Vitamin D! I recommend that you get this book called "Play it away" by Charlie Hoen. Order it on Amazon.co.uk you won't regret it! You can also watch his videos on anxiety on YouTube just type in Charlie Hoen Anxiety or Panic Attacks and his videos will come up or google his name for his Website! His book will be life changing for you. It really helped me. I hope you start to get better soon. For now pls avoid drinks like coke, sprite, fanta etc! And try and eat healthy as diet can highly affect anxiety levels. Lots of hugs and love. Xx

Hi there,

I have been through it all, too. It's hell! But there is light because there is God. If you don't have a religion, turn to Lucinda Bassett's 'Attacking Anxiety and Depression'. It seriously helped me. I only suffer now occasionally from a really bad attack, whereas before it was daily!!!

Also, if your Dr or therapist offers medication, please seriously consider giving them a try. It was with the medication and self help that I was able to get over the worst of it. You will, too. Don't be afraid to talk to people who care, but remember that they can't fix you. Ultimately, only you and God can do that!

You have your whole life ahead of you. I pray you find strength to find your way out of this darkness and back into the light!

Unfortunately only you can make you feel better. The first thing you need to do is see your doctor and explain what you are going through. He can determine if you need meds and you should get counseling. You have to make yourself start living. Staying in bed and worrying all the time is not good for you physically or mentally. One step at a time. Push through. You won't die and you will start to feel better. Work with your doctor and therapist. It's worth the effort because in time you will feel better. You say you haven't returned home but maybe that could be one of the things you need to do. They can support and encourage your road to a healthier life. Good luck. Reach out for help. No shame in needing help. You have us, your family and doctors. You are not alone. Millions of people suffer with anxiety.

Hi, you don't say why your not living with your parents ?? Could you not go back as I think you need them right now, and they will be so relieved they can help you, but most of all be there for you, I'm going though the same as you although I'm a lot older than you I have gone back to stay with my parents they wanted me to, ( they would of worried to much if I hadn't ) please keep intouch on this site or message me privately ANYTIME your not alone you have lots of lovely caring people on here and other sites, I know exactly how your feeling as I feel the same as you, but we're here keep intouch xx

Hi Jvruz, so sorry to hear of what your going through and know that your not alone on this... You have this entire Group community for support and as always you can come here to talk about your emotions and daily struggles... Just want you to know that God is good and he can help you just have to ask him everyday and believe in him at least acknowledge that he is there with you but you must ask him for help and keep praying everyday no matter what ... Don't give up on prayers ... K now are you taking any medications ??? Also have you try changing your eating habits I've done lots of research and food has to do a lot of how our bodies immune system and chemicals can effect us on a daily basis ... First and for most try juicing also make sure to eat at else's 6 small meals a day but healthy ones water is a must ... Can't have Sammy type of sugars only fruits anything natural not being processed or canned frozen or raw veggies fish turkey chicken no fried foods no dairy but you can have aged cheese or Swiss etc see your Dr.. Get blood test done take some vitamins fish oil see a nutritionist no wheat flour or bread ... You can hAve some cashews mixed nuts all raw no salts .. If Any salt should be sea salt .... You can juice fruits and veggies to get all the vitamins in the body ... Do some research on foods for anxiety etc... Always pray and read the bible ... Never look back and remember it's only anxiety I've suffered from this myself I took myself off meds it's been a week and I've started to wear much much healthier the before fast foods or any processed foods .. Taking some natural supplements ....hope this can help God bless take care and hope you feel better ... You can always PM me ....
