Hi mich

Welcome to Anxiety Support

I am sure as people read your post you will find so many will relate to you & give good advise , we are all in the same boat on here when it comes to suffering with anxiety , even though we can vary what has caused us to feel this way

Good news is we can get better & talking on here is one way that helps so many as they no they are not alone

I have & do take diazepam , on a short term basis , they can be a huge help & give you some relief from these feelings short term

As your GP has prescribed them it would be worth giving them a try

Has your GP mentioned any treatment to help you long term like counselling ?

It could be worth asking when you next have an appointment

Asthma can be scary at the best of times,as I have it myself and suffer panic attacks now and then ,my gp prescribed Prozac, which is helping,

Hi mich_88 I have Asthma, and a really painful back problem, together with Bipolar, (a full house) I take diazepam and I find them really affective in treating them all. They relax the body.taking pressure off the back. Calm the anxiety which helps the breathing and the asthma. In my experience the only problem I have is my GP is very reluctant to prescribe

them, as apparently they are very addictive and difficult to get off. When I take them I try not to take them until I'm desperate, this make them last longer. In Wales the GP have been instructed not to prescribe them other than in exceptional circumstances, or by a mental health expert, as part of your treatment.

Wishing you well, if you GP has prescribed them for you, try them, to see if they help, but be careful, not to overdo them.

My best wishes and hope they help

Jamie

Clear and simple valium relieves the anxiety of a severe astma attack and quickly relaxes the chest cavity and quiclky get you back to breathing normally. Stress levels drop quickl. You feel better fast I have found.

However, be careful and use sparingly. It's addictive if taken without doctor prescription and guidance.
