Anxiety Dreams

I usually fall asleep fairly quickly but have trouble staying asleep throughout the night, despite taking melatonin. Every so often I go through periods of time where all of my dreams are filled with anxiety/depression. Some have specific things going on that elicit the emotional response, such as a family member dying, but other times I don't remember anything from the dream except me feeling anxious and/or depressed. I wake up sweaty and in a panic and its hard for me to shake those feelings throughout the day. Its frustrating when you can't escape the feelings even in your dreams.

Sleep is to be a time to shut down the thoughts and recharge. I love the nights I can sleep all night. And I hate the nights I toss and turn and wake up with a nervous knot in my stomach.
